Feeding Therapy
Feeding Therapy
We have an expert group of speech therapists and occupational therapists who are specifically trained to help babies and children who have reduced or limited intake, food refusal/selectivity, dysphagia (swallowing difficulty), oral motor deficits, and delayed feeding skills. We work closely with families to assist with G- tube weaning while collaborating with dietitians and physicians. Our feeding therapists are trained in a variety of feeding techniques including the SOS Approach to Feeding, Food Chaining, and Vital Stim for dysphagia management. Stepping Stones and Northwest Family Nutrition joined together to meet community needs, and were chosen by Seattle Children’s Hospital to be the Eastern Washington ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) team. This team includes specifically trained occupational therapists, speech therapists, licensed mental health counseling and dietitians to address the specific needs of patients diagnosed with ARFID.
